It is a “Yoga Parampara” From pre-classical (5000 years back) to Patanjali, then to Hatha yoga (important given to physical practices) finally now from late 1800 and early 1900 like Swami Vivekananda speech in Chicago in 1893, T. Krishnamacharya in 1924, Swami Shivananda in 1936 etc. With this parampara, the tradition of yoga started from Rug Veda to Upanishads, then to Raja yoga, and finally Hatha Yoga. All these changes are happening as per the experience of the practitioner and his or her interpretation. Now the social attraction if mainly on physical practices and people are very far from the root of Yoga. If the person make the yoga as life style as mentioned in Rig Veda, then there is no differences among practitioner and practice. This universality channelize the cosmic energy within and it can be spreaded as per the need. Hence now there is very crucial time to recognize what is yoga and what we are learning. It is acceptable if a person does not perform a difficult asana but his or her lifestyle is a model for others. But it is not acceptable if a person is very good at asana but not having the moral values. So see Yoga as a lifestyle but not merely the Asana or pranayama or meditation. Yoga

The three classical texts of yoga are Gheranda Samhita, Hatha yoga Pradipika and Shiva Samhita. Rishikesh yoga sansthan reveals the concept and conduct of Gheranda Samhita as this 100 hour program. A brief description of the course according to Gheranda Samhita,

Gheranda samhita book:- This is of 17th century text and has the collections of a sage by name, Gheranda. He brought few asanas as a standard mechanism to strengthen and maintain the endurance of physical body. Such asanas and few mudras were developed for the journey of physical to prana level.

The concept of Kriyas which are derived from the Sanskrit text for purification called Shatkarma for the physical and mental level. Apart from these as mentioned in Patanjali yoga sutras Pratyahara is considered to be the cleaning technique for mind.

Pranayama:- the vital force and connection of this physical existence with the nature will be experienced with pranayama. Learner can experience the lightness and healthy state.

Meditation:- The learner will get to know the way of different perception of the world than before. The process of meditation in the general and specific time are discussed in detail.

All the above practices leads to Transformation. This is isolation as the end product of the learning program makes the personality.

Advance practices can be made from the long maintainance and combination of asanas for the spiritual advancement and the treatment. Hence the syllabus make a person healthy and yoga sadhaka

As the tradition of Rig veda, chanting and its effects interms of pranic energization is the mediator for every session. As the training, even the students will be allowed to have the chanting for their life time.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient medicine developed 1000s of years ago. Shri. Sushruta Samhita and Shri. Charaka Samhita are the standard written books as a witness for the present world. This is scientific based and does not have any side effects. This science is useful for the normal health and also the diseases. It is composed of understanding the Prakruti (body constitution), diet, dinacharya (daily activities) as part of the training at Rishikesh Yog Sansthan. “Ayus” mean “life” and “Veda” means “science” can be learned as part of the program.

A Diet:- According to Bhagawad gita Sattvik diet will be available. As per Ayurveda, diet is also used for detoxification process.
Few items are as follows;

  • 1.Highly nutritious food by providing dry fruits
  • 2. These will be used in few dishes of the day as a powder. This food keeps the colon clean.
  • 3. Soaked seeds or nuts are the near stage of germination. Hence the fresh energy and high nutritious condition can be achieved with soaking and sprouting.
  • 4. Soaking reduces the phytic acid of outer layer, encourage the production of beneficial enzymes and reducing enzyme inhibitors, increases vit- B, reduce gluten and enhance digestion, prevent mineral loss and bone loss.
  • 5. Daily fruits like Berries- these work as antioxidants.
  • 6. Raw vegetables and half boiled vegetables- they are good sources of fibers other than vitamins and minerals. Less amount of fat and calories reduces body weight and good for heart. Broccoli reduces the cancer. Green vegetables- Fertilize the natural microbes of the body.
  • 7. Green juices or smoothies like spinach with avocado and milk. Pineapple with banana and spinach.
  • 8. Tulasi- Anti aging, removes stress
  • 9. Turmeric- this root brings the probiotics naturally to clean up the GIT cover.
  • 10. Mint- if it is the first meal of the day, it can refresh each cell.
  • 11. Lemon- reduces kidney stones if taken with olive oil or raw apple cider vinegar. Add black pepper and ginger to reduce excessive mucus and removing wastes. This improves immune system and rectifies flu.

C.Basti:As mentioned in Sushrutha Samhitha, basti is one of the best process of cleaning the intestine. This is also called as enema. There will not be side effects when administered by experts. As a cleaning process and detoxification process, basti will help the fast recovery from any illness. Skin shines up gradually. This is very good for constipation problems.

D.Body Pack:As one of the traditional bath, different pastes like turmeric, sandal, mud etc, helps in providing the good metals to the body. It also detoxifies though the skin.
